According to an American Psychological Association’s (APA) study, worrying about the future of the nation, work and money are the top three most common sources of stress.1 Work and money have topped the list of this survey for years, however, the number of stressors in life are definitely not limited to these few. Studies show that family, relationships, health, poor nutrition, media overload, and lack of sleep can also be sources of stress.2 The APA also found that 77 percent of people experience physical stress symptoms, 73 percent experience psychological stress symptoms, and almost 50 percent of people say stress has a negative impact on their personal and professional life.2

Bliss is perfect for those stressful days or situations when you need extra support. So keep calm, carry on, and give your body the gift of Bliss!*

Bliss®Anti-Stress Formula Ingredients

Glucomannan is a soluble, dietary fiber shown to help maintain healthy blood sugar levels by delaying stomach emptying and promoting a gradual absorption of blood sugar from the intestines. Glucomannan is also known for helping to maintain normal cholesterol and triglyceride levels while promoting weight loss.

Acid Alpha-lipoic acid, found in the mitochondria, is an energy producer found within cells. Alpha-lipoic acid is a powerful antioxidant. Alpha-lipoic acid has been shown to support normal insulin sensitivity. Alpha-lipoic acid promotes the production of energy from fat and sugar, which promotes the normal elimination of glucose from the blood and supports normal insulin function. Alpha-lipoic acid supports healthy glucose uptake by the muscles and promotes normal glucose oxidation.

Gymenema sylvestre
Gymnema is used as a wellness plant in India. The leaves of Gymnema support normal glucose absorption and help with reducing sugar cravings. Gymnema has been known to help maintain healthy blood sugar levels. There have been several studies on gymnema and the effects it has on blood sugar levels. The results have shown the Gymnema supports healthy blood sugar levels.

American ginseng
Ginseng is part of a group of adaptogenic herbs from the plant family Araliacae. “Ginseng” means “essence of the earth in the form of a man.” “Seng” is a term employed by Chinese medicinal root gatherers for fleshy roots used as tonics. American ginseng grows in shady woodlands with rich soils. It is native to Ohio and found mostly in the Appalachian region of the state. Its range outside of Ohio extends into the eastern half of the United States, from Quebec to Minnesota, and south to Georgia and Oklahoma. Ginseng is helpful in maintaining normal blood glucose levels. Ginseng is also believed to possess outstanding healing properties. Ginseng is an adaptogen, which helps the body maintain proper balance and fight fatigue. It has been used to maintain good cardiovascular health. By acting as an adaptogen, it aids the body in directly dealing with the effects of mental and physical stress. Ginseng is used to enhance physical (including sexual) and mental performance, and to increase energy and resistance to the harmful effects of stress and aging. In traditional Chinese medicine, ginseng is a tonic used to increase strength, support blood volume, promote life and appetite, quiet the spirit, and provide wisdom. Ginseng was used to support cognitive function and support gastrointestinal health. Ginsengs promote Yang energy, support circulation, the immune system and blood supply.

Artichokes, nuts, beans, whole grains and shellfish are the main sources of magnesium. Sixty percent of the body’s magnesium resides in the bones. Magnesium operates as a co-enzyme to promote optimal nervous system functioning and to support the regulation of body temperature, energy metabolism, DNA and RNA synthesis, and the formation of bones. Magnesium works alongside B-vitamins in the production of energy. It supports the normal conduction of nerve impulses and helps maintain a healthy heart. It promotes normal protein synthesis, which is necessary in muscle development. Plus, studies point to a potential role for magnesium supplements in energy metabolism efficiency in endurance athletes. Magnesium is also well known for its role in supporting-bone building properties, working in conjunction with calcium.

Zinc is largely found in fortified cereals, red meats, eggs, poultry and certain seafood, including oysters. It is a component of multiple enzymes and proteins. It supports the regulation of gene expression. Zinc is an essential trace mineral that supports functions in 300 different enzymes. Zinc promotes almost all biochemical pathways and physiological processes. More than 90 percent of the body’s zinc is stored in the bones (30 percent) and muscles (60 percent), but zinc is also found in virtually all body tissues. Zinc also promotes normal healing, provides immune system support, promotes a healthy prostate gland and supports normal fertility and sperm production in males. Because zinc supports a great number of enzymatic processes, it has been found to promote a large range of bodily functions including digestion, energy production, growth, cellular repair, collagen synthesis, bone strength, cognitive function and carbohydrate metabolism (glucose utilization and insulin production).

Chromium is found naturally in some cereals, meats, poultry, brewer’s yeast, broccoli, prunes mushrooms, fish and beer. Chromium is an essential trace mineral that promotes normal glucose metabolism, helps maintain healthy insulin levels, and helps maintain healthy blood levels of cholesterol and other fats. It may also help with appetite control. Chromium has been shown to help maintain healthy blood sugar, cholesterol and triglycerides levels, and to aid in weight loss. Chromium may promote an increase in lean body and muscle mass.

Vanadium is found naturally in seafood, mushrooms, some cereals and soybeans. Vanadium a trace mineral is known for being effective in maintaining healthy blood glucose levels. Vanadium helps increase muscle mass, supports normal blood flow and helps maintain normal glycogen synthesis and storage.

Biotin is naturally found in egg yolks, peanuts, beef liver, milk (10 mcg/cup), cereals, almonds and Brewer’s yeast. Biotin is known to help maintain healthy blood sugar levels. It also helps to strengthen hair and nails, increase energy levels and help maintain normal cholesterol levels.

What is stress and how can it affect your body?
We all have an idea of what stress means, but that idea may not be complete. Stress is a person’s physical mental or emotional response to change or demand. The different types of stress include acute, episodic and chronic. Acute stress is your reaction to pressures or anticipated pressures of the recent past and near future respectively.1 It’s short-term stress and includes everyday situations like traffic or having an argument. Episodic stress is frequent acute stress.1 Usually those with episodic stress have constant nervous energy, have too much going on in their life that they cannot seem to get their head above water, are irritable and impatient, or are always worrying about life. Chronic stress 1 results in feeling hopeless about escaping a situation(s) that is depressing, painful or traumatic over extended amounts of time. Being homeless, feeling trapped in a job you hate, or challenging family dynamics can lead to chronic stress.

Another point to remember is that stressors don’t always carry a negative connotation. There can be both positive and negative stress in everyday life: eustress and distress. Eustress can be the thrill of a rollercoaster ride, beginning a new job or having a baby – all positive life events that create normal, nervous or overwhelmed reactions.2 Distress is the opposite and includes negative stressors like experiencing a death, having a car accident, work or relationship conflict.2

What are adaptogens?
Adaptogens are natural substances that may help the body adapt to physical and emotional stressors. 4 They have thousands of years’ worth of history, thought to promote calming and mood balancing qualities. 4 Common adaptogens include ashwagandha, eleuthero, passionflower and rhodiola – which are in Bliss®. *

Bliss® helps maintain healthy levels of serotonin. What is serotonin and how does it affect mood and behavior?
As a neurotransmitter, serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine) plays a key role in the central nervous system and digestive system as it sends messages and signals between nerve cells. 5 In the brain, extensive research suggests` serotonin is heavily involved in mood regulation. Also known as the “happy” or “feel-good” brain chemical, when serotonin levels are low, many people experience poor or imbalanced mood symptoms.5 * When serotonin levels are healthy, people are more likely to experience calmer, more focused and stable moods.5 *

Bliss® helps maintain healthy levels of dopamine. What is dopamine and how does it affect mood and behavior?

Like serotonin, dopamine is a neurotransmitter. Research shows dopamine to have several functions in the brain, including its effect on a person’s feelings of reward and motivation, memory, attention and body movement.6 * Low levels of dopamine in the body have shown to alter mood, reducing feelings of motivation and enthusiasm.6 *

What is GABA and how does it affect body and mind?

GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) is the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter that controls functions in your body and mind. Along with glutamate, an excitatory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, balanced levels of these neurotransmitters are associated with relaxing the body and mood regulation.9*

Are the ingredients in Bliss® safe?

Bliss® Anti-Stress formula is a carefully formulated blend of herbal ingredients that do not have any known undesirable side effects.

How does Bliss® promote relaxation without drowsiness?

Bliss® contains herbal ingredients like L-theanine that have shown in studies to help relax or reduce stress without the side effect of drowsiness. For example, L-theanine does not produce theta brain waves, which are associated with drowsiness. Instead, studies show it helps support alpha brain waves, promoting a state of relaxation and focus.*

What are other ways I can manage stress?*
Bliss® can be a helpful dietary supplement for helping you adapt to stress and feel more balanced. * However, Bliss® is not a cure to stress. Rather it is formulated to help adapt to stress and balance mood. *

Other ways to help manage stress include recognizing signs of how your body responds to stress,10 as they may indicate you are not coping with situations in ways that benefit your health. You can also try activities like exercise 10, which may boost your mood, or things that promote relaxation (e.g. meditation, yoga, etc.). Additionally, having a support network of friends and/or family 10 may be helpful ways to help manage stress levels. One last thing – when you feel overwhelmed and don’t think you can cope, reach out to a healthcare professional for help.10 They may help provide you with resources and recommendations.

I love that you can use the product every day or just when you need it. I tell my friends that it’s great to have around when the entire family visits or when the mother-in-law comes. When you are going to give a presentation or exam time, it’s fantastic. If you have overall anxiety or just when you are traveling or anytime you have those nagging thoughts that keep you from focusing on what you want to do including getting a good night’s sleep. It won’t make you drowsy or rev you up. It even helps my teen with premenstrual tension. I would give it 10 stars if i could!
